Holden Lane Primary After-School Club

Run at Holden Lane Primary School, Sneyd Green through partnership between Wesley Hall Methodist Church & North Staffs Youth for Christ

For Key Stage Two pupils
(Maximum of 30 children initially)
Start date: Tuesday 18th January 2005
Running in term time every Tuesday afternoon
Time: 3.10 – 4.15pm
2 personnel from NSYFC per week and minimum of 3 volunteers from Wesley Hall

Format of club:
Team to be there from 2.40pm to pray and set up.
Children arrive at approx 3.10pm
1-Drinks, biscuits and chat about the day (5 mins)– circle time
2-Games (10 mins)
3-Songs (10 mins)
4-Teaching time (10 mins)
5-Craft (15 mins)
6-Bible verse & prayer time (5 mins)

Aims of the club:
1-To introduce children to Jesus and the life He offers
2-To provide children with a Bible and teach them how to read it properly and apply teachings to their lives.
3-For the club to be part of the journey of the church in relation to the other activities provided.
4-To raise children’s self-esteem & self-worth and sense of hope for their future.
5-To encourage children’s respect and worth of other people.
6-To have fun and enjoyment in a safe, loving, non-exclusive environment.
7-To worship God together as a community and grow together on our journey with Him.

8-Team meetings every half term – to be arranged with team for agreeable time
9-NSYFC involvement in Sunday morning service once a term
10-Bibles given to children after 1st term to children who have attended for 6 weeks or more
